A city full of churches and architectural treasures, Venice

Churches in Venice come in all shapes and forms. You see domes, mosaic walls, marble facades, clock towers, restored walls without windows, watch towers, statues and arches. They all have one thing in common; you are not allowed to take any pictures from the interior. The first city in the world we are faced with such rules.

Italy is a very religious country but here in Venice there are more tourists than inhabitants. So churches do not have enough believers to attend the celebrations. For this reason many of them have now a new destination like concert hall or museum.

  3. What a shame that these huge beautiful churches are not put to the use they were meant for, only now to be used as tourist attractions or museums.
